These outdoor timber tiles made in China are from Beata Ceramics Co., Ltd.—a large-scale factory located in Quanzhou, Fujian, China. Specializing in the R&D and production of outdoor thick tiles, our factory has previously launched multiple product series, replicating numerous classic natural stones through high-precision inkjet technology and molds. This time, we have strived for excellence and launched the digital glaze series, with B612SM008 being one of its models.

Process Interpretation

Traditional tile glazing methods, such as pouring glaze or high-pressure spray glazing, are relatively rough, making it difficult to control the glaze layer thickness. In contrast, digital glaze technology uses ink jet printers to evenly spray finely processed ceramic glaze onto the tile surface. This method results in a thinner, more uniform glaze layer with nanoscale fineness and enables multi-channel precise alignment printing. Therefore, digital glaze tiles can highly restore the textures and colors of various natural materials, such as marble and wood grains, achieving realistic and natural effects. B612SM008 timber look outdoor tiles, in particular, replicate natural wood textures through digital glaze technology—visible wood fibers make the entire tile even more lifelike.

Specifications and Application Scenarios

The B612SM008 wood grain tile, with dimensions of 600×1200mm and a thickness of 18mm, is specifically designed for outdoor spaces. This product is mainly used for wall surfaces; installed by dry-hanging technology can stably protect the building structure. Thanks to its uneven surface texture created by digital glaze technology, it also offers superior slip resistance compared to ordinary matte tiles. Many customers who love the warm texture of wood flooring also use it for the floors of their home courtyards.

Why Only 18mm Thickness?

When used the tiles on walls, it is responsible for protecting the wall, thermal insulation, and must withstand wind, sun, rain, and other harsh conditions. It requires sufficient wear resistance and durability, so its thickness cannot be the same as that of indoor tiles. Secondly, as a high-density thick tile, it is quite heavy (a single 600×1200mm×18mm tile weighs 72kg), meaning ordinary paving methods are not safe or reliable. The best approach is to adopt the dry-hanging method, which is commonly used for stone installation. Dry-hanging typically requires grooving the tile to allow it to be mounted on the dry-hanging system. If the thickness is too thin, grooving becomes more difficult, and the tile is prone to cracking and breaking, leading to increased losses. Therefore, 18mm is the golden thickness for outdoor wall tiles.
